The “new children” have been given different names, depending on characteristics, personality, appearance, qualities, abilities and skills. Their “psychic” names derive from the colors of the aura; the electromagnetic field that extends beyond the body and surrounds it, and can be seen by people with clairvoyant abilities. The aura, or human energy field, displays a range of colors which can be captured on film with Kirlian photography.

Indigo children have a prevalence of blue within their aura, while Crystal children are surrounded by opalescent, pearly white light and Rainbow children emit the full spectrum of rainbow light colors, which can be seen within their aura.

Usually each universal age is accompanied by a predominance of individuals with a certain “life color”; the shade that is prevalent at the deepest level of the aura. For instance most adults at present have either blue or violet as their life color; the two colors with the attributes most needed in this Violet Age of transition. During the next age, known as the Indigo Age, Indigo colors will dominate.

Each of us has an internal rainbow in shape of the seven chakras (or energy centers), which correspond to the seven rays of light.
