STEP 1
Self-acceptance starts with loving yourself for who you really are - a magnificent Divine creation, a perfect idea in the Mind of God. Universal Mind, or God, loves you, cherishes you, and values you for WHO YOU ARE, right here, right now. All the flaws, imperfections, short comings you perceive in yourself do not exist in God's perspective of you. You are imagining them, BUT by imagining them, you are giving them validity, power, and control over how you feel. It really is true that your thoughts create your reality. Thoughts of lack and limitation will create exactly that - lack and limitation - in your experience. So if you feel you lack health, lack a slim attractive body, lack grace, lack vitality, lack joy - what do you do? We already know that by focusing on the lack, we will experience and attract more lack, and an absence of what we truly want.
What do we truly want? Vitality, health, a slim attractive body, joy, grace, ... THIS is what we need to focus on in order to attract it into our reality.
STEP 2
All slim people think of themselves as slim. This may seem obvious at first, but think about what this really means. If you think of yourself as overweight, you will find it very difficult to lose any weight at all. As soon as you shift your perspective from an image of yourself as deficient, out of control, unattractive, imperfect, and overweight towards an image of the Ideal You, you have changed everything. On the outside, you may (temporarily) still be the same you, but internally everything has changed.
STEP 3
When you value and appreciate your body, you start to make healthy, appropriate food choices. Emotional eating naturally drops away. You are not filling or numbing emotional needs or ideas of insufficiency with food.
You start to see food as a source of nourishment, energy and health - not as a source of love or comfort. As a result, you eat when you feel hungry, not when you feel down, depressed, upset or angry. You no longer punish your "imperfect" body by withholding nourishment or filling it with nutrition-less, energy-less food choices. You naturally gravitate to foods and drinks which keep your body balanced, fit and healthy. You attain your ideal weight, not because you focus on weight loss, or withhold nourishment, but because your body, now that it feels happy, free, and loved, easily and naturally moves towards its own point of wellbeing. One day you look in the mirror and you see the Ideal You you have imagined looking back at you!
The most important thing - NEVER allow yourself to feel guilt around any of your food or lifestyle choices. Guilt is the unhealthiest emotion of all. People in Crete (Greece) smoke cigarettes, drink copious amounts of red wine, and eat fatty meat, yet they have one of the highest life expectancies in the world. Why? Because they love life, they enjoy themselves, they celebrate every day and never feel an ounce of guilt around their lifestyle!
