At its highpoint, Atlantis was a technologically advanced and distinguished civilization; whereas Lemuria was made up of more heart-centred individuals, who were less analytically and technologically focused, but who honed the powers of the mind - such as telepathy, clairvoyance and spiritual healing - to a very high degree.

Correspondingly, Atlantis, as a culture, emphasized left-brain skills and attitudes, while the civilization of Lemuria focused on right-brain values and attributes.

Left-brain structures are focused on analysis, logic, linear time; whereas right-brain structures are focused on unity, creativity, inner reality.
